The idea for CrossFit Aspinock came when 6 people shared the same vision, create the best CrossFit experience for all levels of CrossFit athletes allowing that experience to grow a supportive community that attracts others to it. 

CrossFit Aspinock empowers the health seeking individual toward the active pursuit of wellness. We provide classes that utilize the constantly varied functional movements performed at the high intensity modality of CrossFit as this improves fitness and health. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life.
 
Our coaches care. We are here to help you improve with each day. We accommodate everyone in their own pursuit of physical health and happiness! Young or old, beginner or elite, we will modify the class for you!

CrossFit is a rapidly growing worldwide grassroots fitness movement. Combining gymnastics (calisthenics) with multi-joint weightlifting, interval training, and aerobic training, it approaches fitness as a contest against oneself.  Workouts are measured by objective criteria like wattage, time, weight lifted, repetitions, or force, instead of repetitive "bodypart splits." Highly addictive, CrossFit focuses on perfection of form, a high frequency of variance in movement, a high intensity level over a short time period, and fun. The social aspect of working out in the group encourages both strength gain and frequent participation without the unfounded stigma of heavy weights or unfamiliar movements. 


Who are we?

CrossFit Aspinock is comprised of Jessica Deary, Shawn Deary, Dr. Alison Monette, Christopher Pomposelli, Jill Schneider and John Schneider, a group of highly educated people, a physician and several experienced business people. They all have businesses in Putnam.  They brought an abundance of knowledge with them to the creation of this CrossFit gym. Along with our heavily experienced trainer, Mischak Rivera, we are able to provide the best CrossFit services around including premier coaching, equipment, environment and community. The combination of our gym manager/head coach’s previous experience and success as a head CrossFit coach/manager along with the business experience of the owners, CrossFit Aspinock is poised to be a top fitness facility in New England.

What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. All CrossFit workouts are based on functional movements, and these movements reflect the best aspects of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and more. These are the core movements of life. They move the largest loads the longest distances, so they are ideal for maximizing the amount of work done in the shortest time. Intensity is essential for results and is measurable as work divided by time—or power. The more work you do in less time, or the higher the power output, the more intense the effort. By employing a constantly varied approach to training, functional movements and intensity lead to dramatic gains in fitness.
